Kathryn’s recent material reflects her time spent honing her craft, her entry into motherhood, and her return to Colorado. She says, “…as a new mom, I didn’t have the ability to tour or be out there promoting myself a lot , but I did have a few hours here and there when I could work on becoming a better writer and player.” Kathryn continues, “I also feel like Colorado itself influenced the songs quite a bit. The high peaks, the arid landscape, the dusty motels, even the tumbleweed are all supporting players in this new song cycle that is Rich Girl.”
Rich Girl has been described as a “stunning piece of work” (Wendy Wham, 91.5 FM KUNC), one in which “Mostow’s vocals are able to raise goose bumps at the turn of a phrase.” (Scott Foley, Routes and Branches). Charlie Englar of Scene Magazine writes, “Mostow takes a leap of faith with Rich Girl, and her lyrical commitment and truthfulness take center stage. Don’t miss her live performance.” |
